AKRO Experience Ride
When the first primitive human watched a bird fly, and felt the longing to join him in the skies, they did not think of physics, or pilots licensees, or FAA regulations, or how they could place a commercial value on aviation, as a matter of fact, the word aviation has not existed for the most of history. The first humans to long to fly, wanted to fly like birds, unencumbered by rules, airspace, training requirements, or commercial deadlines.. They wanted the simple freedom of flight.
We, however, are not birds, so we’ve had to invent machines to enable us to break the bonds of earth and head skyward, and in doing so, have had to also develop training, regulations, and methods to bring us up and safely back to earth again. Most pilots now, even the most basic, operate within a structure designed to allow us to fly in this way. Aviation has also been commercialized to carry passengers, cargo, and perform a variety of other specialized tasks, and as such, most aviation training emphasizes smooth, non aggressive flying, requiring strict adherence to standardized practices and procedures; and as a flight instructor I’ve trained my private through commercial students that way and for good reason, the safety and practicality of aviation requires it.
There is, however, still a way to experience the true freedom of flight, and though even the best pilots and machines cannot equal the beauty of an eagle in flight, or an owl diving from a 70 foot tree to catch a mouse, we can still experience something amazing! Aerobatics! Aerobatics have been around in one form or another for almost the entire history of aviation, and throughout this history, pilots have pushed their flying machines to the edge of their limitations, and many times beyond, in attempts to make them perform ever more amazing maneuvers, mimicking the freedom of birds in flight. Even today, modern barnstormers like the Blue Angels, wow huge crowds with their seemingly unlimited mastery of aerobatic skills.
The Akro Experience Flight is an opportunity for anyone to take to the skies and experience the true freedom of flight.
Loops, rolls, hammerheads, spins, and many other maneuvers can be performed safely, and enjoyably, giving you the chance to experience the miracle of flight in a way relatively few people, even commercial pilots, ever have.
This is a 30-40 minute flight designed to give you the opportunity to experience a variety of aerobatic maneuvers of your choosing; as much or as little as you want. Breaking free from the bonds of earth is an exhilarating feeling by itself, but looking at the world in a variety of flight attitudes, feeling the Gs pushing you back in your seat, and then feeling the weightlessness of 0 G, is like nothing else.
This flight is available to pilots and non-pilots alike, pilots can log flight training, and if you’re not a pilot (yet) you can bring a logbook and log your first training flight. The flight can include a video at a small extra cost. I enjoy these flights, and I trust you will enjoy them just as much; and I individually tailor the flights to those who have never flown aerobatics, and even those who have never flown before. Please come join me for the thrill of a lifetime!
